My mother and I are thirsty to see the world. Last summer, when I visited her in Paris, she surprised me and bought one day tickets to Strasbourg. Now why did we go to Strasbourg? For food, of course (we even had a list of different types of food and we chose the restaurant according to our list).
Yes, we love food.
The food loves us ...
....this is a short love story that ends quickly with the end of all the goodies on the table.
Also, make sure to check out my other post about our one day trip to Strasbourg -> here <-
Now, let's talk about my favourite part.. What to eat:
#BAGELS ! (Bretzel)
Seriously ! When you get to Strasbourg, hurry to buy bagels. You will find them everywhere on the streets of the city, but make sure they are warm and fluffy before you buy them! You'll find the best ones by 1:00 at noon, so hurry up! And ask for some Kugelhopf (the cake under the pretzels in the picture)

You can try any of their recipes, believe me - super tasty! And the desserts. We have not been able to eat dessert since we were so full that we could not move. But seriously, save some space for dessert! Our list:
choucroute (checked)
bretzel (checked)
Baeckeoffe (checked)
Flammekueche (their type of pizza)
pain d'épices (traditional sweet bread. (in Alsace, contains a little cinnamon)
Kugelhopf (i told you about it earlier)

First dish - Choucroute - Several kinds of smokes: kaizer, cremwursti, pork with minced meat (we did not manage to figure out well), a piece of duck meat etc etc accompanied by quality sweet cabbage.
Second dish - Baeckeoffe - potato in the oven, served with sour cream in a bowl in which to mix red onion, crushed garlic, fresh basil etc, plus wonderful salad! The mix goes over the potatoes.
